I was given the opportunity to work in Japan for a year by one of my old employers. So for the next year, I will be living in Shiojiri, Nagano working as a Software Designer. I arrived in Japan 3 days ago, however it wasn't until now that I had some time to post. My accommodations were provided by the company, so here are a few pictures of my apartment:
These are only a few pictures of my apartment. Yes, there's a toilet. And yes, it's one of those fancy toilets with specific cleansing functionalities... Other things I found interesting since I moved in were how strict Japan is with recycling. Although there are recycling programs in Canada, they aren't as enforced as they are here. There are specific types of garbage bags for specific types of garbage (i.e. garbage bags for plastic, garbage bags for non-flammables, and garbage bags for flammables). All in all, the culture is really different than what I'm used to and I'm excited to embrace it. I hope I can find more time to blog about my experience!
